Mid-eastern Brown Bear
The Mid-Eastern
Brown Bear (Ursus arctos syriacus) is truly a rare trophy among Russian
Bears. A bit smaller bear than the Eurasian Brown Bear, the Mid-Eastern
Brown bear varies in color from a dull grayish-brown tone to pale straw.
The Mid-Eastern
Brown Bear is hunted in the Caucasian Region of Russia. This Region can
only be described as “the most scenic country in the world” and will offer
you an experience you will not forget.
Getting to the Hunting Area
You will fly
into Moscow and upon arrival you will be met by ProfiHunt’s representative
who will assist you in the customs formalities. You will spend the evening
in Moscow in a Hotel. In the morning you will fly two hours to Mineralnye
Vody, and transfer via car to Karachaevk for an overnight stay. The next
morning you will transfer via car to the hunting area.
Hunting Camps
Accommodations
vary from hunting houses with single bedrooms to private hotels. All are
clean, warm, and you will experience good home style food and quality
service.
Hunting Methods
Spring is the
most successful hunting period Mid-Eastern Bear. You will hunt over bait as
well as spot and stalk. The bears are feeding on lush new grass at this
time, and can be easily spotted.
The area you
will be hunting in is very mountains terrain. Expect some horseback riding,
as well as plenty walking. Your physical condition will be a factor in
reaching good observation points, where you may glass for several hours,
before moving to another area trying to locate your trophy.
