and assist you through customs. You then fly to Osh, which is the second
largest city in Kyrgyzstan. The flight is less than an hour. from Osh,
after which you will transfer to a 4x4 van which will take you to the
hunting area thru the mountain pass. Travel time in the van is long,
however it does help you to gradually adjust to the elevation change of
13,000 feet.

Elevation at base camps is between 12,000 to 13,500 feet. The buildings are
wooden structures and ProfiHunt normally takes their clients to the “Hot
Springs” camp. Camps are warm, clean and comfortable and you will find a
good food coupled with quality service. There are separate areas for dining,
bathing and sleeping; with power supplied by electrical generators.
All camps have electrical generators and are equipped with a satellite-phone
or radio station, along with a medical first aid kit.
Hunting Methods
In
the morning you get into your jeep. Horseback hunting is not available in
Tajikistan. During the day you travel the upper edges of the mountains and
the valleys, glassing the hillsides and feeding areas. Once the trophy is
located your stalk will be done on foot. You hunt at an average altitude of
14,000 feet, thus physical condition is a factor; especially during the
stalking portion of the hunt. A long range shooting, up to 500 yards is
normal for Marco Polo Argali hunt.
