Mountain trophies, the Kuban Tur ranks high on most hunter’s lists. They can
only be found in a comparatively small part of the Caucasus Mountains and
this hunt offers an extremely challenging experience. Many hunters in the
past have traveled back home without seeing a single ram.

refined this hunt’s success rate basis their experience and in last two
years 100% of their hunters have had an opportunity to take a Kuban Tur
trophy, with 80% achieving success.
Note that the
Kuban Tur counts towards both the Ovis and Capra World Slams. The Caucasian
Chamois which can be added to this hunt, also counts toward both the Ovis
and Capra World Slams. Other trophies available during this hunt include
European Roe Deer, Wild Boar and Mid-Eastern Brown Bear.
Getting to the Hunting Area
You will fly
into Moscow and upon arrival you will be met by ProfiHunt’s representative
who will assist you in the customs formalities. You’ll then most likely
spend the evening in a hotel in Moscow. In the morning you will fly two
hours to Mineralnyye Vody and then transfer 3 hours via car to Cherkessk,
complete the Visa Registration process, and stay in a Hotel. The next
morning you will transfer via car to the hunting area.
Hunting Camps
Accommodations
are in tented camps at an elevation of 5,100 feet. The tents are large in
size and you will sleep on cots with showers also available. You will
experience good home style food and quality service with electricity being
provided by an electric generator.
Hunting Methods
During the day
you will travel the upper edges of the mountains and the valley while
glassing the hillsides and feeding areas. You will be on horseback, so you
should expect extensive horseback riding, coupled with considerable walking
and hiking. Some knowledge and experience with horses and ridding is
definitely a plus.
Temporary tented
camps are set up with the specific goal of hunting a particular trophy or
area. Rams are generally located in very remote country at elevations
approaching 9,000 feet. Once a trophy is spotted you complete your stalk on
foot. Your physical condition is definitely a factor for this hunt.
