Kamchatka Snow Sheep

Kamchatka Snow Sheep inhabit the central part of the Kamchatka Peninsula.

The number of Kamchatka Snow Sheep you will see is at times limited, however ProfiHunt has had good success and will work hard to give you an opportunity to take home a trophy.  The Kamchatka Show Sheep has the heaviest base of all snow sheep in Asia and you can expect an average size of 34-37 inches with an occasional 40 inch ram being taken.

This hunt can be combined with Kamchatka Brown Bear, Wolf, and Wolverine.

Getting to the Hunting Area

You have several options in flying to the Kamchatka Peninsula. There is at times a flight from Alaska that is done once a week into Petropavlovsk, however many hunters connect thru Moscow since daily service is available to Petropavlovsk.  In Petropavlovsk, upon arrival you will be met by ProfiHunt’s representative who will assist you in the customs formalities.  You will then be chartered into the camp by a helicopter with a flight time of 1 hour.

Hunting Camps

The camps are modern windproof tents and are equipped with stoves and cots. Separate tents are used for dining, sleeping, with one set up with a shower. The camps are located in mountain valleys at elevations between 2,500 to 3,000 feet. All camps have cooks who prepare good home style meals while offering quality service in a rustic setting.  Electricity is supplied by generators.

Hunting Methods

Traditional Spot and Stalk is used for Kamchatka Snow Sheep hunting.  In most instances you will have two guides for each hunter in camp.

With the exception of one area where horses can be used, all hunting is conducted on foot. A great deal of walking and climbing is required, thus your physical condition will be a factor.  Spike tent camps are normally used to access remote areas which allows you to cover more area during your hunt.
