Russia
European Moose
European Moose
can be found both in Europe and western Asia, from the Ural Mountains in the
east to the Yenisei River and Altai Range in western Siberia.
European Moose
have well developed antlers, often with palms that can weigh up to 44 pounds
without the skull. European Moose from western Siberia are larger with more
palmate antlers then those in the European side of Russia.
This hunt can be
combined with Wolf, Wild Board, and Eurasian Brown Bear.
Getting to the Hunting Area
You will fly
into Moscow and upon arrival you will be met by ProfiHunt’s representative
who will assist you in the customs formalities. Most hunters will be taken
by van to the Moose hunting region of Yaroslavl which is located 175 miles
from Moscow. Many hunters consider the Yaroslavl area offers superior
trophies to the Udmurtia area, which you would travel by plane from Moscow
to.
Hunting Camps
Accommodations
are comfortable cabins and lodges with stoves, beds, and showers. All are
clean, warm, and you will experience good home style food and quality
service. Each camp has an interpreter and a cook.
Hunting Methods
Each hunter is
provided with two guides. Hunting is done on foot while using jeeps for
transportation into the hunting area. Some spot and stalk can be done,
however calling mature moose bulls has proven to be the most successful
method.
